Ditchingham is a rural village and civil parish in South Norfolk, situated on the River Waveney close to the Suffolk border, approximately 1 mile north of Bungay and 12 miles south-east of Norwich. It is a well-connected community set within attractive countryside, with access via the A143 linking to surrounding towns and villages.

The village has a long history, recorded in the Domesday Book, and includes the Grade I listed St Mary’s Church, dating from the fifteenth century. Ditchingham retains a strong rural character, while benefiting from nearby services in Bungay.

A well-known local landmark is the “Chicken Roundabout” on the A143 at the Bungay bypass. The roundabout takes its name from the prominent chicken sculpture installed at its centre, reflecting the area’s agricultural heritage and becoming a recognisable feature for residents and visitors alike.
